Just because we are staying inside doesn’t mean we cannot have fun date nights with our partners. Being at home 24/7 can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you are used to going out on weekends, or having some alone time with your significant other. So today I want to share with you some fun ideas that you can do to have a wonderful date night while staying at home.
- Cook dinner together.
Cooking is always fun and it can be even more fun if you do it together with your partner. You can both prepare your favorite meal. It doesn’t even have to be a full meal. It can be appetizers, pizza or something easy. You can also get creative like my husband and I and pick any country in the world to cook a dish from. This can be fun and you will also be learning about another culture. Put some music on, drink some wine and have fun together.
2. Binge watch a new series or series of movies for the whole night.
There are lots of great series that are worth watching all night and you can select one with your partner and try to see how long you can stay up to watch. Order take out and just pig out on the floor while you watch a great series or a list of movies. Some of the movies that I have watched with my husband that I never thought I would ever watch were pretty good. Some notable ones that you can try are all the Star Wars movies, Indiana Jones, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Harry Potter and the list goes on. Something fun would be to even watch crappy movies and you can critique them while you are quite buzzed from drinking. haha
3. Paint and sip.
Paint and sip is a really fun date night activity that you can do. You don’t have to be Picasso to do this. I have done this quite a few times with my partner and it has always been fun. You will need paint, brushes and canvases. If you don’t have canvases, you can paint T-shirts or even paint on paper. You can find lots of ideas on Pinterest of what you can paint. Or you can just paint what comes to your mind.
4. Play board games.
My final date night idea is to play board games or any games for that matter. Once again, get some alcohol, some finger foods and try to see who will be the champion. In my house we play Jenga (my husband is the champion of this), we play Yahtzee (I am the champion of this one), and sometimes we play dominoes (there is no clear champion in this game because we each beat the other occasionally). I keep trying to get him to play Scrabble but since my background is in teaching English Language, he is scared. haha
It doesn’t take a lot to have some fun with those you love and these ideas do not need a lot of planning. They can definitely be fun and great bonding activities for you and your partner. But always try to have some fun because being inside all the time can take a toll on our sanity. Do you have any suggestions of fun date night ideas? Comment below so I can look into doing them with my husband. Thanks for reading guys. xoxo.
