We spend a lot of time and money on our faces. We have morning and night time routines to get smooth, spot free faces but we ignore other parts of our bodies. Other than moisturizing our bodies we don’t do anything else. Sometimes our butts and below the butt may have a darker color than the rest of us because we sit on them for prolonged periods of time and this happens as a result. If you are of African decent then your butt might look ashy.
So just like how we take care of our faces, we should pay attention to our butts. Our thighs, on the other hand, might start getting cellulite as we get older. I have been noticing that my thighs are no longer smooth looking. So today I will share with you a DIY scrub for your butt and thighs and a little routine to get them looking great in those bikinis or short shorts because summer is coming up and we can be prepared just in case the shelter in place orders get lifted.
DIY Coffe Scrub :
1/2 cup coffee grounds
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup organic coconut oil
Other things that you will need for your routine after scrubbing:
Tea Tree Oil
Body Butter or Organic raw Shea butter
Vitamin E oil or Bio-Oil
Make sure the coconut oil is in a liquid state. If not melt the oil and allow it to cool before using. Then mix coffee grounds, coconut oil and brown sugar together. You can store the mixture in a covered glass jar. You can also add other essential oils and carrier oils to the mixture.
How to use?
Do this scrub once a week while in the shower. After you have showered rub the scrub onto you butt and thighs in a circular motion for a few minutes. Let it sit on the skin for 5- 10 minutes. Then wash off with warm water. You can then use soap to remove the oily residue. Be careful not to slip in case the show gets oily.
After you leave the shower, take a cotton pad and wet it with water then pour 2-3 drops of tea tree oil on the pad. Just like you are applying a toner to your face after cleansing, rub the pad onto the areas that you used the scrub on. Tea tree oil can help soothe dry skin by reducing itching and irritation. It also has anti-inflammatory effects on the skin. After this, you will use a thick moisturizer on the butt and thigh. This can be a body butter or organic raw Shea butter. You can also mix the butter with vitamin E oil or Bio-oil.
Do this once a week and you will have bikini ready butts and thighs ready fr summer. The scrub is very easy to make and most of us will have the ingredients already in our pantry. You can even make extras and give as gifts to friends and families. Happy scrubbing. xoxo
