I don’t normally go to the gym, and as I have told you guys before that I don’t do much workout, but, it is something that I am working on changing. I want to be fit and healthy even when I am old. So on my very new fitness journey, these are what I do to keep the body fit.
High Interval Intensity Training. This is a training technique in which you give 100% effort through quick, intense bursts of exercises, followed by short, sometimes active recovery periods. This type of training gets and keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less times. This is great for weight loss because workouts are performed at a high intensity and your body burns more calories than it does when you perform lower intensity exercise. Some examples of the HIIT exercises are sprints, burpees, mountain climb, jumping jacks, jumping lunges and high knees. This type of training can be done once a week for 30 minutes. I do this, but I never last 30 minutes. However, I can say that every time I do, it I last a little longer. Improvement!! Lol.
I also do ab crunches, squats, donkey kicks and other abs and booty workout routines. Recently, more people have been staying home and using resistance bands in their workout routine. So this is something that you can buy and use. Two really cool pages to follow on Instagram for great at home workouts are @linnlowes and @fitgurlmel. Their pages are all about fitness and they even have YouTube channels with great workout videos, fit apps with meal plans and recipes.
Walking is a really great way to stay fit as well. My husband and I go for walks very frequently. We walk the beaches, through the woods, around the neighborhood. It doesn’t matter, as long as you are moving. If you do this a couple times a week, you are well on your way to keeping fit. Also remember that if you are on a fitness journey to lose weight then you will also need to change your diet to reflect this. I am not interested in losing weight. Lol. I just want to be fit and toned and I want to gain a little muscle. I sometimes walk up and down our apartment stairs for a few minutes and it always leaves me feeling sore in my legs and thighs.
And that’s how I stay fit guys. The ab crunches and squats can be done 2 times a week. You can also do weight training. If you do not have weights at home, it is totally fine, because you can use water bottles. I use 1 gallon water bottles and they work wonders. Let me know in the comments what you d to stay fit at home or if you are on a weight loss journey. Thanks for reading. xoxo
